Room 6 & 13 parents:
Please sign and return the forms as soon as possible.
If you can volunteer, we are still looking for more volunteers.
Room 13 parents:
Please look for a strip of white paper with your child's winter writing goal on it.
We have all been working on these goals - each has their own individual one based on class performance - and have laminated strips on desktops to remind us as we work.
Students that demonstrate the skills necessary to complete their goal will be moved onto their "next steps" and they get to display their first goal on their clipboard in class. Hopefully, by the time conferences roll around again, you will get to see their collection of writing accomplishments!
Grade 2 Math
Grade 2 students have been exploring a Math game called "Prodigy".
Passwords and login information came home today.
This will be an activity that students can go to when they have caught up on classwork.
Students can also play it at home if desired.
It is age appropriate for Grade 2 as there is quite a bit of reading involved, as well as Math.
The students are quite excited about it and would love to show you how it works.
GAMES PROJECT Grade 2s
This week, students are working on creating games and identifying 3D objects and 2D as they work with the supplies. Please look at the link below for more details about the project - at the end of which you will find the rubric on how students will be evaluated.
Tomorrow we will be planning our games. Would you please talk to your child and see if they will need any supplies from home, such as boxes or things from the recycling? I've asked them to look for "treasures" from the recycling bin, rather than getting anything new. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks - Ms. Betty
