Polar
Bear Club
When the weather dips to -20C (with
or without the wind chill) or colder, students are not sent outside for recess.
During those indoor recess days, we are offering the opportunity for students
to go outside for a short time and play as part of our Polar Bear Club or choose to stay inside for lunch recess.
Rationale:
Regular opportunities for play and physical activity, especially outdoors,
improves our mood, attention and fitness.
Participation:
The option to go outside will only
be offered to those students who have returned a permission form signed by a
parent or guardian and who
are properly dressed. Students with a permission form may still choose to stay
inside during indoor lunch recess.
Supervision:
The Polar Bear Club will be supervised by Mrs. Holman, Ms. Yong, Ms. Hamel,
Mrs. O’Grady, and Mrs. Naud
If your child is interested in
having the option to participate each time a Polar Bear Club is called, please
complete and sign the form and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher.
